GRAFILIT® IQ

This top-of-the-line graphite-based and stainless steel-reinforced composite design – allowing a uniform surface pressure distribution – combines exceptional thermomechanical properties and outstanding anti-stick performance (facilitating gasket replacement during maintenance). Its compatibility with a wide range of media, high self-oxidation resistance, and suitability for cyclic operations while being inert to flange corrosion, qualify perfectly this heavy-duty material for prolonged chemical, petrochemical, and steam applications.

The Bayernoil plant has a capacity of 218 thousand barrels per day in which BP owns a 22.5% share. The refinery is located in Bavaria, Germany and is operated across two locations. The refinery produces a diverse range of products such as gasoline, diesel, fuel oil and bitumen. The refinery is operated by Bayernoil.
In 2008 the refinery completed a multi-year reconfiguration project which will position the Bayernoil refinery to be more efficient and competitive. The project resulted in the closure of one of three operating locations and the construction of new diesel production facilities, increasing yield of this deficit product.
